CYCLEBAR 101

If you’re competitive like me, one of your favorite things about rocking a ride at CycleBar is seeing the statistical proof of your effort after every single ride. Oh, and ranking at the top of the class never hurts the ol’ ego, either.

Not sure what all the numbers and symbols really mean? No worry, we’re here to help you quantify your ride. CycleBar® has proprietary CycleStats® technology that measures the key metrics of your daily and historical performance, and emails you the results after each ride to help you track the progress of your fitness journey.

Let’s start where it all begins: in studio.

When you see the stats on the monitor in the CycleTheatre, the very first thing you’ll see is a number. That number is your rank.

Next, is your screen name. Haven’t made an in-studio screen name yet? Update your profile on your Account dashboard online.

Now, let’s go to the top of the screen. There are a bunch of symbols across the top of the screen:

  • BIKE: This indicates which bike you are on. (Pro tip: use this to figure out where your competition is sitting.)
  • MUSIC NOTE: The music note displays your Energy Points. You earn Energy Points based on the number of watts (that’s the power generated when you push your pedals) you produce factored with your speed, and then this number is adjusted to account for your gender, height, and weight. The faster you pedal at the higher the resistance, the more Energy Points you will generate. (Pro tip: the person with the most Energy Points is the person who wins class.)
  • SPEEDOMETER: The speedometer represents your RPMS, or how many rounds per minute you are currently pedaling. This number should match with the beat of the music, and your CycleStar Instructor will help you find it. (Pro tip: it’s easier to find the beat if you close your eyes.)
  • LIGHTNING BOLT: The lightning bolt shows your watts, which is the power generated when you push your pedals. The faster you pedal at the higher the resistance, the more watts you will generate. (Pro tip: crank your resistance and watch this number soar.)

All of these numbers and stats factor together to give you a more complete look at your ride.

You already know that you get an email after every ride with your at-a-glance data, but did you know you can see your historical performance and improvement over time on your dashboard online? Log in, check it out, and see how much you’ve grown!

Happy stat studying, riders!

Yes, what does the star mean?!?

  • Dana

I think a star means you a new student
