Aggie Schmidt, an admitted cynic, reluctantly decided to give CycleBar a try when her aunt invited her for a ride. After just one ride, Aggie was a convert! She has been riding 3 to 5 times every week since CycleBar Hilton Head opened and has already lost 20 pounds. We grabbed Aggie to answer a few of our burning questions:
You’re a weight-loss success story! What’s your secret?
My little secret is that I have given up drinking alcohol, and started riding regularly during the week. I’ve been at it for a little over a month, and I’ve already lost pounds and gained muscle. I have also been trying to get in at least 10,000 steps a day. I honestly have not felt this good since I was 18, and with all that extra energy, I can run around with my kids without being completely exhausted.
What’s next on your journey?
I would love to start taking some interval training classes. I really want to strengthen my core. My goal is to be able to rock a bikini next year. Even writing that down sounds kind of ridiculous, but it’s true!
What advice would you give to new riders?
Stick with it! I think a lot of people, myself included, tend to start new workout programs, and then they just stop going when life gets too busy. Make yourself a priority and keep at it.
